To help keep you safe and ensure you never miss a check-in, our system sends a series of reminders and alerts. This guide explains exactly what you can expect before, during, and after your check-in time.
Pre-Check-in Reminders
You will receive multiple in-app notifications leading up to your scheduled check-in. These reminders are designed to give you plenty of time to complete your check-in on time:
• 20 minutes before
• 10 minutes before
• 5 minutes before
• At the exact check-in time
• Unconfirmed Emergency
These notifications appear directly from the app and are the first line of reminder(s) you’ll receive.
Notifications at the Exact Check-In Time
If you have not completed your check-in at the scheduled time, you will receive:
• An in-app notification
• A phone call from +1 (866) 913-3337
• An email reminder prompting you to check in
⚠️Important: To ensure you receive your check-in phone call, please save +1 (866) 913-3337 to your contacts.
Some devices block unknown numbers or silence them as potential spam, which may prevent the call from coming through.
You can also check yourself back in with this phone call, to locate your requested credentials, please log-into slmonitor.com > profile > review 'Voice App Login' information.
10-Minute Grace Period
If you still have not checked in at your scheduled time, you automatically enter a 10-minute grace period. The grace period is between check-in due and the unconfirmed emergency.
During this period:
• You continue to receive reminders (in-app, phone calls and an email)
• Your monitors are not notified
• You still have full control to check in without escalation
This ensures users have an opportunity to respond before escalation begins.
After the Grace Period (Unconfirmed Emergency)
If the 10-minute grace period ends and you still have not checked in:
• Your monitors will be notified/contacted
• Notification follows the escalation protocol by your group
This ensures your safety contacts are informed promptly and accurately.
